The shoreline is the main reason to visit. Walking and cycling can be just as rewarding as spending the day in one place on the sand.

Marshes, dunes and wildlife distinguish Kiawah from more intensively developed resort areas. Respect protected areas and keep your distance from wildlife.
Golf destination
Kiawah is internationally associated with golf. Tee-time access, courses and visitor arrangements vary, so golfers should check current information well in advance.
Know before you go
Parts of the island are private or tied to resort and residential access. Check current public beach access, parking and visitor rules rather than assuming the entire island works like a municipal beach.
I would choose Kiawah for relaxation rather than sightseeing volume.
